Do you walk, wheel or cycle between Hayle and St Erth, or wish you could?
Walk Wheel Cycle Trust are working with Cornwall Council to understand what would make these journeys feel safer.
Add your experiences and ideas to our online community map and help influence future improvements.

Walk Wheel Cycle Trust are carrying out a study to create a safe, convenient walking and cycling route between Hayle and St Erth, two communities just 1.5km apart.
The aim of the project is to make it easier for people to walk, wheel or cycle between the two locations. This route will form part of National Cycle Network Route 3 and is an important step in Cornwall Council’s wider “Bay to Bay” ambition to link Hayle and Penzance.
We are asking local communities to tell us more about how they get around, and identify any issues or opportunities to make their current journeys safer.
Your feedback will help us to recommend improvements and select a suitable route option to take forward to further designs.
Survey open until: 15th March 2026

Following recent cliff falls and land slides around Cornwall we're urging people to stay away from cliffs and embankments

Following recent cliff falls and land slides around Cornwall we're urging people to stay away from cliffs and embankments.
Due to the wet weather, the risk of rockfalls along Cornwall's coastline is greater than usual.
If you see someone in danger on or near cliffs, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Pathway badly blocked by fallen tree, 10th February
Pathway badly blocked by fallen tree. Dangerous as well as it seems passable to the point that when I was there a family was clambering across it with their pram with baby in it ! Had to help them with pram. Glad I turned up when I did as when I went over it was very slippy and with roots that you can catch your foot in.
