It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Graham Coad on Monday 19 January.
Graham was Mayor of Hayle from 2014 to 2016. Hayle-born, he attended Penpol School and Humphry Davy School before going on to serve with Devon and Cornwall Police, where he was twice stationed policing Hayle. He retired from the force in 2004.
Graham was first elected to Hayle Town Council in 2007 and served the town with dedication for many years. He was Chairman of the Amenities Committee and played an active role in numerous projects and working groups. Throughout his time on the Council, he was a strong supporter and advocate for all staff.
As Mayor, and as a politically independent town councillor, Graham was committed to working collaboratively for the good of Hayle and the wider area. He was keen to foster unity within the Town Council and to maintain strong, positive links with neighbouring communities.
Our sincere condolences are extended to Graham’s family and loved ones.
