Cornwall drifter Michael Brickley committed robbery and burglary...
A drifter and prolific criminal from Cornwall has admitted carrying out a robbery and breaking into a hotel room while he was transferring from a train to a bus.
Michael Brickley had been travelling around Britain for months before he decided to return to his home in Bude in May. He got off a train at St Davids in Exeter and carried out two crimes in a short space of time before transferring to a bus to north Cornwall.

Conservative Sarah Newton wins Truro and Falmouth General...
Newly re-elected Conservative MP Sarah Newton said she would hit the ground running and be back in her office this weekend.
After a tense count at Carn Brea Leisure Centre, which saw the Truro and Falmouth MP face strong opposition from Labour, Mrs Newton called on all parties to work together in the nation's interest.
She said that with Brexit negotiations due to start imminently, it was vital that all political groups came together to get the best deal for the UK.

Cornwall has been ridiculed on social media after voters were kept waiting for the results of the general election.
At 6.30am, four of the six constituencies that were still waiting for their results were in Cornwall after the country's fate had already been decided.
Results for Camborne and Redruth as well as Truro and Falmouth

There has been a high turnout at polling stations across Cornwall, early results have shown.
In Camborne and Redruth, the first constituency in the county where counting got under way, more than 70% of the electorate made their mark today.

More votes will be added to the total of 46,916 as postal ballots handed in to polling stations in other parts of the county are included.

A man who pretended to be an Asian porn star to swindle a retired divorcee out of £35,000 in a Facebook scam has been jailed.
The 36-year-old created a fictional account of a voluptuous Bangladeshi model to lure the lonely divorcee, who was looking for marriage on the internet. He sent pictures of an unknown woman in underwear or a bikini and the pair exchanged hundreds of messages on social media over the course of a year.

Voters have been confused by people sitting outside of polling stations insisting on collecting their voter registration numbers.
The people who are not associated with any authorities overseeing the General Election in Cornwall have been reportedly asking insistently for the numbers and/or to see voters' polling cards.
Clive Rogers, 71, ran into them at Leedstown Village Hall and said he also saw them at the local elections for Cornwall Council and town and parish councils last month.
