Cornwall is in mourning today following the death of its former Lord Lieutenant, Lady Mary Holborow. Described by many on social media as "a real lady", she died aged 80. Known to so many in Cornwall for the her role she performed from 1994 to 2011, she celebrated her retirement with a huge party at the Eden Project. The engineering work to bring back Cornwall's most iconic Art Deco seawater pool to life after it was battered by storms three years ago has been shortlisted for a national award. In 2017, the New York Times's 52 Places to Go listed Penzance at number 14 and said Jubilee Pool was the best thing to see and enjoy in the town. A teenage child rapist from Cornwall has been jailed for more than eight years from crimes against three victims. Brandon Lipscombe, of Bude, appeared at Truro Crown Court on Thursday (June 8).
