It was a bright sunny day when we packed up Peggy – our beautiful bright yellow camper, kindly loaned to us by the Cornwall Camper Company – and headed off to visit the South East Cornwall constituency.

The A30 has been closed in one direction due to a crash involving one vehicle.
The emergency services were at the scene in the westbound carriageway near Redruth.
The accident in the wet weather is understood to involve a single vehicle just after the A3047 Scorrier junction just after 8am. It was also reported that there was debris in the road and one lane eastbound was also closed.

Police have shot dead three suspected terrorists who were said to have killed six people and left nearly 50 injured in an attack at London Bridge.

Paranoid Camborne cannabis dealer Kane Spargo called police to...
A cannabis smoker and dealer who was so paranoid that someone was hiding in his attic called police to his house where they found £1,200 worth of the drug.
Officers were unable to find any intruder but did detect a strong smell of drugs and a court heard how they found a stash of 127 grams of cannabis and £730 in cash.
Kane Thomas Spargo, of Chapel Close, Tuckingmill, Camborne, was then arrested and found himself before a judge at Truro Crown Court.

Emergency services had to work fast to rescue a man with a suspected broken ankle on a beach in Bude as the tide was advancing.
Bude Coastguard Search and Rescue Team were called to Barrel Rock on Thursday to reports someone was injured.

Police appeal for help finding missing woman Stacey Herring from...
Police are appealing for help finding a woman who has gone missing in Cornwall.
Officers are concerned for the welfare of Stacey Herring, 29.
They said she was last seen at about 4.15pm yesterday (May 2) in Saltash.
Stacey is 5ft 2in and has brown hair with blonde highlights.
The police said it was not known what she was wearing the last time she was seen. They said her hair was tied back at the time.
She was also said to be carrying a tent in a tweet from Devon and Cornwall Police...

Woman treated by paramedics after house fire in Boskerris Road at...
A resident had to be treated by paramedics after a fire at a house in Carbis Bay.
Fire crews from St Ives and Hayle were called to the home at Boskerris Road at 5.45pm yesterday (May 2).
The fire was in a cupboard on the ground floor and they used breathing equipment, a hose and tools to put it out.
An ambulance was called and paramedics treated a woman at the scene for smoke inhalation.
