There's hell up in Plymouth over new fortnightly bin collections
Plans are being considered to introduce fortnightly bin collections in Cornwall instead of the weekly collections currently in place.
The idea by Cornwall Council has received a lukewarm reception so far from households up and down the county, with many people arguing that
the bi-monthly bin collection will only work if households are given wheelie bins to accommodate the growing amount of rubbish.

Latest on rescue of sinking yacht 60 miles off Cornwall
A yacht which was sinking off the coast of Cornwall has been successfully towed back to safety.
The alarm was raised at 8am this morning after
the boat began taking on water. It was reported that the three crew members, from Ireland, were waist-deep in water.
Coastguards sent out the rescue helicopter from Newquay and they were joined by another rescue helicopter from Waterford in Ireland.

Coverack flash flood: Hopes main road B3294 will reopen soon
Efforts are under way to have the main road into Coverack reopened by early next week. Cornwall Council has said it hopes to have a one way system set up with temporary traffic lights as soon as possible.
The village on the Lizard peninsula was struck by huge flash floods on Tuesday afternoon after a period of intense rainfall. The floods ripped up the roads, swept through around 50 properties and caused widespread damage.

A man threw bags of heroin out of his bedroom window just as police officers were raiding his house downstairs, a court has heard.
The officers were executing a drugs search warrant on the house near Liskeard. They found 58-year-old Colin John Worboys in his bedroom, wearing latex gloves, with 222 grams of heroin in various bags and a set of weighing scales.
