Cornwall police's major crime team has been brought in to investigate a suspected assault with a hammer which has left a man with serious head injuries. An 18-year-old has been arrested. Faecal bacteria has been found on ice at major fast food chains including McDonald's, KFC and Burger King. Scientists sampled ice at 10 random branches of the eateries in the UK to test for coliforms that indicate products that have been contaminated by the bacteria. Cornish pasties at the Horse and Jockey Bakery in Porthleven were given a royal seal of approval by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. The bakery had even created a huge pasty for the royal visitors - which was much admired by the duchess. Prince Charles gave a heart-warming speech to staff and patients at the new Macmillan Cove Centre during his visit to Royal Cornwall Hospital.
