Car goes up in flames after fire on A30 at Launceston in Cornwall

A car was completely destroyed after catching fire and going up in flames on the A30 today. The car was described as 'well-alight' when firefighters arrived. There were no reported injuries. A fire engine from Launceston was called to the scene on the A30 near the town at around 4.30pm. Firefighters wearing breathing masks moved in to extinguish the flames. A campsite was evacuated and a major incident was declared after a fire broke in a farm building containing gas on the Isles of Scilly. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 3.20am from St Mary's about the fire in a farm building near King Edwards Road.
