Car goes up in flames after fire on A30 at Launceston in Cornwall
A car was completely destroyed after catching fire and going up in flames on the A30 today.
The car was described as 'well-alight' when firefighters arrived. There were no reported injuries.
A fire engine from Launceston was called to the scene on the A30 near the town at around 4.30pm. Firefighters wearing breathing masks moved in to extinguish the flames. They used two high-pressure water hoses to put the fire out.

Police surround house in Callington over reports of armed man
Police are understood to have surrounded a house in Callington where they believe a man may be armed with a weapon.
Residents have been told to stay indoors for their own safety while police negotiators talk to the man.
He is reported to be a 27 year old. The incident was first reported at 10am this morning after police were called to to residential street in Callington called Porthmellon Gardens.

Scilly fire: Campsite evacuated and firefighters brought in on...
A campsite was evacuated and a major incident was declared after a fire broke in a farm building containing gas on the Isles of Scilly.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 3.20am from St Mary's about the fire in a farm building near King Edwards Road.
Both appliances from St. Mary's were mobilised and were on scene in nine minutes but the building was already well alight and oxyacetylene was known to be contained in the building.
