Cornwall is 27th-worst area in UK for car crimes
Devon and Cornwall is the 27th-worst area in the country when it comes to car crime, new figures have revealed.
According to a report by number plate sales site Click4Reg.co.uk which analysed crime figures from all police forces in the UK, 4,679 vehicle crimes were committed in Devon and Cornwall in 2016.
Metropolitan Police recorded the highest number of vehicle crimes last year with an astonishing 89,900 while West Midlands Police recorded the second highest number of car crimes at...

A huge search and rescue operation was launched following reports of a person seen at the base of a cliff on the north coast of Cornwall. Firefighters rescue casualty from overturned vehicle on A3075 at...
One person had to be rescued from a car which overturned between Truro and Newquay.
Ten firefighters attended the scene on the A3075 at Rjerrah just after 7am. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The crews from Newquay and Tolvaddon Community Fire Stations found the vehicle on its side and used tools to get the driver out.

After more than two years of roadworks a new stretch of dual carriageway on the
A30 at Temple was officially opened on Friday.
It is the latest in a history of major improvements to the main route into Cornwall that have been ongoing since the 1970s in a bid to ease congestion.
At Temple the existing A30 was widened to create a dual carriageway, but previous improvements have seen completely new sections and bypasses built, consigning parts of the old A30 route to history.

A warning has gone out about the dangers of drugs after a 15-year-old girl died when she took a 'legal high' in a park and two others were taken to hospital, according to police.
