Local elections: the polls close, time for the verdict
Cornwall went to the polls on Thursday and now the wait begins to find out what the county's council will look like.
More than 400 candidates stood in 122 wards on Thursday, with St Petroc's ward in Bodmin choosing their councillor next month.
There were also 16 seats up for grabs on the Council of the Isles of Scilly.

A surfer rescued after more than 30 hours stranded at sea has revealed he thought he was going to die just moments before he was found by a helicopter.

The family of a missing 14-year-old from Redruth have been appealing for her safe return on Facebook.
Shanay Murton was last seen at 10am on Thursday (May 4) on Church Road, Redruth.

Firefighters were in action on the Truro river this lunchtime and drafted in the service's aerial platform vehicle - prompting quizzical glances and questions from passers-by.
However, it wasn't for an emergency, but part of ongoing training to make sure they are ready for every eventuality.

Cornish firefighters have been dealing with a bush blaze in Penzance this afternoon - arson is suspected.
The fire took place behind Sullivan's Diner, near the Penzance bus and train stations. The fire has been successfully put out, it is not yet known how it started but witnesses believe it could have been deliberate.
Emergency services, who also suspect arson, attended the scene at around 3pm this afternoon.

The people of Cornwall will today deliver their verdict on how the county has been run for the past four years and who will take charge in the future.

A bid to increase the "merciful" prison sentence of a Camborne pensioner, jailed for the attempted murder of his friend has failed.
